Aligning Resources and Promoting Collaboration

The purpose of the Western Wyoming HCC is to bring together a multi agency and multidisciplinary group of entities and individuals working together to promote, consolidate and collaborate in a unified response to emergencies affecting the region. The HCC will enhance the region’s ability to achieve emergency preparedness capabilities recommended by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Testimonials

As the PHRC for Uinta County, I was able to utilize help from my partners to complete a 20 year old project given to me by the Uinta County Commissioners who knew of the need for a backup EOC for local and county incidents. This project involved funding and installation of a generator at the School District #1 Transportation Department who have been a long time planning partner and was willing to share their facility to this end result.

The WWHCC participated in the completion of this project along with other grants from LEPC partners; Phillips 66 Pipeline, Rocky Mountain Power, Uinta County Fire & Ambulance, Dominion Pipeline, Uinta County School District #1, and Uinta County Public Health Preparedness & Response, as well as in-kind equipment and manpower provided by Uinta County Maintenance and the City of Evanston. This project was completed in August of 2019 just as the Covid-19 Pandemic was appearing in the US. The facility can be used as a Joint Operations Center for any of our area partners that need a place to command an incident from, or as a Backup EOC for local responders.

The assistance from the WWHCC made it possible to complete this multi-user project on time and utilized only partner grant funding. This facility can be used well into the future as our County Backup EOC, or as a Joint Operations Center (JOC) for any of our area partners that need a place to command an incident from. It is this type of partnership that makes us better prepared to face future responses. We are better prepared, and value those partnerships we have put together.
